Happy 20th anniversary, dear Potterheads! I’m a bit late on this train, but in honor of this milestone, I really wanted to celebrate with another Harry Potter tag. So off we go!

Am I a Pureblood, Half-blood, or Muggle-born?

By judging how snobby, racist, and bigoted my dear family can be at times, I must have been born to a family of Purebloods. Yes, we’re Asians. And if you didn’t know, Asian pride can be pretty effing strong.

Which wand chose me?

Acacia wood
Dragon heartstring core
12 ¾” in length
Quite Bendy flexibility

According to Pottermore, my wand is apparently the temperamental type that needs a sensitive touch, which sounds like the kind that only I can handle. But still, leave it up to me to get the tantrum-prone wand…

Did I take an owl, cat, rat, or toad with me?

First of all, who takes a RAT as pet? Sorry Ron, I defend you as not being the worst character in Harry Potter, but I do knock you points for this. As for toad, what do you do with it? You can’t pet it, train it, or get it to acknowledge you as its owner. Just look at how Neville’s toad took off for freedom at every chance it had!

Therefore, I might go with cat. I’m extremely tempted to choose owl, but an owl wouldn’t make for the best companion as it’ll be off sending letters all the time. Therefore, Crookshanks wins by default. Maybe. Kind of.

Where did the Sorting Hat put me?

I get Ravenclaw 70% of the time, Hufflepuff 30%

What house did I want to be in?

The weird, artsy people of Ravenclaw is usually my crowd, but I think I can fit in with the loyal people of Hufflepuff as well. Although if I am looking for cool points, I would choose Ravenclaw: the smart ones would help me with my homework.

The form my Patronus takes?

Okay I’ve clearly lost my mind, but how in the world does hyena describe me? Hyenas are aggressive, have raucous laughter, and are definitely not vegetarians. I, on the other hand, am passive,  start wheezing if I talk even for 10 minutes, and I’m near vegetarian!

So tell me, how.

What lessons are my favorite and least favorite?

Is it weird to think that I’d be great at Defense Against the Dark Arts? I’m not much of an offensive player, but my defensive instincts are pretty good. I’d also love Astronomy (star-gazing, man), Charms (Flitwick is such a sweetheart), Arithmancy (math ftw!), and Potions (chemistry and cooking combined, as long as Snape isn’t the one teaching it.)

As for least favorite subjects, I wouldn’t be interested in Transfiguration or Care of Magical Creatures. I’m not great with animals, and while McGonagall’s awesome, transforming stuff into other stuff isn’t that interesting to me. Although at the end of the day, who am I kidding? I’m at Hogwarts; I wanna learn everything!

What does a boggart look like for me?

Likely the same as Mrs. Weasley’s? I’m taking care of a suicidal sister at the moment, so dead family members are a very near reality for me. Although~~~on second thought, hairy spiders munching on my dead family and friends would also  bevery scary.

Yeah, you know what, I’m changing my answer to spiders.

Do I partake in any magical hobbies or school sports?

I’d make for a good Keeper even though but I’m kind of a pansy when it comes to extreme heights. But the Frog Choir sounds nice. And orchestra. And Chess club. (My gosh, I deserve to be a Muggle for life…)

Where would I find myself hanging in my free time?

In bed: Come on, just because I’m a witch doesn’t mean I’m not a sleepyhead anymore…
At Hagrid’s: Who doesn’t enjoy spending time with their cuddly, surrogate father?
Perusing the library: The smell of books turns me on something hardcore.
Lounging by the lake: Nature!!!! Giant squid!!!! Ariel!!!!
The Great Hall: Being indoors  stifles me, so large, architectural spaces are a plus. Not to mention, food!

What would I most likely get detention for?

Being out of bed after hours. I’m a bit of an insomniac, and I’m not great at sitting around doing nothing. Therefore I’d sneak into the kitchens for food, or the Room of Requirement to transform it into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter or something.

Think about how trippy that would be.

What career do I want after leaving Hogwarts?

Again, when you’re magical, even sweeping floors at Hogwarts sounds fantastic. However, Healer, Professor, or writer like Lockhart sound ideal to me, although wand-maker sounds particularly interesting.

I mean, Ollivander once recounted nearly being gored by a unicorn in his pursuit of wand materials, so the job must hold a good balance of art and sport, eh?

So that’s the end of this tag! But now I have something awesome to tell you.

IMG_0675First off, considering that it’s the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter, I got myself the group of Harry Potter Funko Pops I’d been eyeing for a while. Hooray!
Secondly (and more importantly) my birthday was a month ago, and my parents got me the gift of a lifetime: a first edition, third printing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. WHAT.

Now I’d been craving this for nearly a decade, but having been raised with the idea that spending money on stuff like this is wasteful, and thus being the most frugal person you’ll ever meet, I never dreamed of owning this book. But my parents, being the lovely people they are, knew that it was the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter, and thus casually presented me with this book on my birthday, saying, “Heck, you waited long enough.”

So that’s really the end of my freak show:) Thanks for reading, and I will see you next time!
